As told by Tafesse Kidane (1952-2013), founder of Immanuel God With Us Ministry and co-founder of Immanuel AMEN Gospel, Encouragement and Worship Ministry.  April 2010

In 2003 Immanuel God With Us was established  by Tafesse Kidane as a non-profit corporation in the State of Arizona.  In 2004 the Board of Directors changed the name to Immanuel AMEN International Gospel, Encouragement and Worship Ministry to reflect the multi-ethnic nature of the worship gatherings.  (Psalm 133) In 2004 Tafesse learned about the severe Bible shortage in rural Ethiopia, which led him to begin Bible distribution trips to remote and rural Ethiopia which continued until his death in 2013.

After a lengthy illness, in November, 2013, Tafesse Kidane passed away. Prior to his death, plans were beginning for the GreenStone Printing Press to be placed  in Ethiopia.   On June 1, 2014,  Immanuel AMEN  was dissolved and assets were combined with GreenStone Ministry, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation registered in the State of Arizona..  Short term bible distribution trips  begun by Immanuel AMEN continued with GreenStone Ministry, led by Tafesse's wife Abeba Gola,  and plans began for the long term GreenStone Digital Printing Press located in Addis Ababa.

The Immanuel AMEN Core Group gratefully acknowledges the eleven years of service by the Board of Directors, Tafesse Kidane, Pastor Sanghoon Yoo, Co-Directors; Carol Petersen, Secretary and Pastor Tammy Barba.   May God continue to bless the work begun in His name.

“In my dream I was at a large conference and I momentarily left the meeting in order to place a phone call to the Ethiopian Bible Society.  I put in my quarter and started to dial when for some reason I decided not to make the phone call.  I wanted my quarter back so after I hung up, as I tried to take my quarter, many quarters came flooding out of the telephone box.  There were so many I didn’t know what to do with them all.  I was able to put them into a sack and when I looked again inside the phone box, a bright green stone appeared in place of the quarters. A voice said that I should take the stone so I placed it into the sack with the quarters.  For some reason my conference badge was misplaced  and I was concerned about getting back into the conference, but the same voice said it was ok, and not to worry about it.”

Tafesse was advised by a close friend to call a Christian woman in Ethiopia with the spiritual gift of interpreting dreams.  When he told her the dream, she said the green stones represent bibles.  She did not know about Tafesse's bible distribution ministry.
